Snowshoes Tour Val da Camp (CH)

Service Description

Three days of snowshoeing in the fantastic Val da Camp, guests of the beautiful Rifugio Saoseo, located near the wonderful natural lake of the same name, immersed in an enchanted forest of massive Swiss pines. Superb snowy panoramas, frozen lakes and peaks over 3000 m will accompany us during our excursions in the wild nature of the Swiss Alps. During the three days there will be several training sessions on risk awareness in snowy environments and demonstrations of the use of emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe). Day 1 Arrival by car in Sfazù (Poschiavo) and snowshoe climb to the Rifugio Saoseo of the Swiss Alpine Club, passing by Lake Saoseo. Dinner and overnight stay at the refuge. Day 2 Excursion in the enchanting Val Mera,​ admiring the mass of Corn da Camp,​ which dominates the gentle slopes of the valley. The itinerary is subject to verification of the stability conditions of the snowpack. Day 3 Ascent to the Passo di Val Viola (border with Italy),​ admiring the fantastic views of the lake of the same name,​ on Piz Paradisin,​ Corno di Dosdè and Val Viola Bormina. Return to the refuge and descent to the cars for the return journey. The itinerary is subject to verification of the stability conditions of the snowpack. Difficulty: WT1-WT2 Difference in altitude: approximately 500-600 D+ per day Duration: 3 days Packed lunches,​ dinners in the refuge Max. 8 participants. The fee includes: accompaniment with a UIMLA International Mountain Leader Professional Guide, planning and management of the excursion, training on correct progression with the use of snowshoes and poles, notes on the flora, fauna and geology of the surrounding environment, demonstration of use of avalanche transceiver-shovel-probe, customer accident insurance, insurance in case of recovery, satellite messaging in case of emergency. The fee does not include: half board at the Saoseo Refuge, packed lunch, expenses for any shared transport, equipment rental, anything not included in the "fee includes" section.
