DETAILED PROGRAM:
Day 1 | Pontresina - Capanna Coaz
Park the cars in the Corvatsch-Diavolezza cable car square, we will be ready to leave for our trekking in Engadine!
We will climb through splendid woods, until we cross the tree line and reach the middle station of the cable car in Mùrtel. After a short break we will start climbing again, in an increasingly wild environment, until we reach the Forcella Surlej, a beautiful panoramic place from which you can admire both the Val Roseg, with the magnificent glaciers that close it, and the Silvaplana area with the lake of the same name.
From the fork we descend towards the Val Roseg, until we reach the refuge, located at 2600m, in a super panoramic position on the valley, the underlying Lake Vadret and the glaciers, so close that it seems you can touch them!
Difficulty: E
Difference in altitude: about 1300 D+
Duration: all day
Packed lunch, dinner and overnight stay in the refuge
Day 2 | Capanna Coaz - Glaciological Path - Pontresina - Surlej
Departure after a hearty breakfast at the refuge, in a southerly direction, following the glaciological path, between waterfalls and giants' potholes, until reaching the "glacier door", a fantastic ice cavity from which the meltwater of the Roseg Glacier flows!
We then retrace our steps for the descent that from the refuge takes us along Lake Vadret, a beautiful body of water where the glaciers are reflected, until reaching the Hotel Roseg Gletscher, located in the center of the valley, where we can enjoy a nice relaxing break, before continuing on our way towards Pontresina.
