Rwenzori Expedition 2026

The Rwenzori Mountains are a snow-capped mountain range located in the Western Rift Valley. Their main peak, Margarita Peak, reaches 5,109 meters and is shared with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The snows along the equator extend for 120 km along Uganda's western border.

With a fantastic circular hike, we will traverse the beautiful landscapes of Rwenzori National Park, from forests to glaciers, attempting to reach the summit of Margherita Peak, the highest peak in the range.

On our return to Kampala, we will visit the AVSI mission, which runs schools for children and youth and a women's center. We will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the harsh reality of life in the slums and the powerful stories these people bring with them.
