About the event
Starting from Alagna Valsesia, a small Walser village on the slopes of the wild SE face of Monte Rosa, we will cross splendid alpine valleys full of charm, staying overnight in refuges rich in mountaineering history and original cuisine, to achieve our great goal: immerse ourselves in wild nature and admire some of the best panoramas of the Alps to touch the Capanna Regina Margherita, located at 4554 m on Punta Gnifetti, the highest refuge in Europe!
DETAILED PLAN:
Day 1 | Alagna-Pianalunga - Orestes refuge
From Alagna, take the lifts up to Alpe Pianalunga. From here begins our journey that will lead us to cross the beautiful Olen valley skirting the Sasso del Diavolo, guardian of ancient legends and reaching Passo dei Salati (2936 m), from which we descend to our stage point of the day, the Orestes refuge that will welcome us with its fantastic cuisine.

Day 2 | Orestes refuge - Gnifetti hut
After an excellent breakfast at the refuge, we set off towards our second destination: the Capanna Gnifetti (3610 m), historic starting point for many ascents in the Monte Rosa massif. You walk along the Alta Luce (3184 m) and admire the Indren and Garstelet glaciers, until you reach the Mantova refuge. Subsequently, after a short journey on the glacier, we reach the Gnifetti Hut, where we will enjoy a well-deserved beer and the breathtaking view of the Rosa peaks (Lyskamm W 4458 m, Lyskamm E 4527 m, Balmenhorn 4167 m, Piramide Vincent 4215 m) and of the Garstelet and Lys glaciers that surround the refuge.

Day 3 | Gnifetti Hut - Regina Margherita Hut 4554 m - Mantova Hut
Summit day! At first light we set off from the refuge for the ascent up the glacier, passing Colle del Lys and reaching the Capanna in the morning, located on the summit of Punta Gnifetti at 4554 m! Packed lunch at the Capanna and then descent along the ascent route, until we reach the Mantova Refuge where we can celebrate our finish line!

Day 4 | Mantova Refuge - Alpe Pianalunga - Alagna
Last day, we go down! First a super breakfast at the refuge, then we leave to reach the Alpe Pianalunga lifts, which will take us back to Alagna.

Cost: €790 (max. 5 participants). Registration will be considered completed upon payment of the deposit of € 300.
It is possible to repeat the event even on non-calendar dates, upon customer request.
The fee includes:
- Professional Guide UIMLA International Mountain Leader
- UIAGM Alpine Guide for the mountaineering part of the route
- trekking planning and management
- half board in refuge
- customer accident insurance
- use of satellite messaging in case of emergency
The fee does not include:
- transportation fee
- costs of the Alagna ski lifts
- packed lunches (the packed lunches of the guides must be divided among the participants)
- alcoholic beverages and soft drinks
- personal expenses
- anything not expressly indicated under "the price includes"
Meeting point: 6:00 in Pedrengo, 8:30 in Alagna Valsesia.
The customer must show up at the meeting point or starting point excursion at the time indicated in the communication that will follow after registration. At the end of the registration, the customer will be added to a temporary whatsapp group which will be used for service communications, updates and information useful for the excursion.
